| 520 | |a لم يكن الشعر في متناول الرجال فحسب، بل كانت المرأة العربية منذ القديم تستسيغ الشعر وتقرضه، وتلتذ النثر وتنسجه شأن العرب في ذلك الزمان، وقد برزت أسماء السيدات وذاع صيتهن منذ القديم في تذوق الشعر ونقده. وقد كانت المرأة في الشعر العربي موضوعا للشعراء، إلا أن بعض النساء خالفن القاعدة والعرف الاجتماعي، فتمردن على واقعهن، وحظين بشخصية مستقلة ثقافية واجتماعية، فغدت المرأة شاعرة وناقدة، تثبت حضورها الفاعل في ميادين الشعر ورواده، بل وتبز الشعراء في معايير شعرية، أهمها معيار الفحولة الشعرية الذي كان حكرا على الشعراء من طبقة الرجال دون غيرهم. ولعل ليلى هي من كبريات شاعرات العرب بعد الخنساء، إذ نظمت في أبرز الأغراض الشعرية، مثبتة أن الإبداع الرفيع لا يرتبط بالشعراء، بل هناك شاعرات يحق لهن أن يحظين بهذه المرتبة، وليلى كانت إحداهن وكانت بذلك جديرة بدراسة تتناول أبرز ملامح الذات الشعرية عندها. | ||
| 520 | |b Not only poetry has been restricted to men, but also Arab woman used to taste and write poetry since time immemorial, next to her interest in prose and narratology comparable to all Arabs at that Bedouin time—when they were still leading a simple life. However, names of women have been revealed and broadly circulated concering handling and criticizing poetry since antiquity. In Arabic poetry, woman has been one topic for poets; however, some women have been exceptional and violated the social customs, thus challenged their status quo and gained independent and societal character that made them poetesses and critics capable to ascertain their effective presence in the field of poetry and among poets. They could further compete poets at certain poetical criteria the most important of which is that of poetical potency that has been exclusively restricted to poets. Probably, Laila was the greatest Arab poetess following al- Khansaa; she had been lucrative in the spectrum of poetic trend, thus proving that poteny was not poets' specific, rather, there were poetesses who were praiseworthy: Laila had been the one apparent figure who deserve scrutinized study that handles the most obvious human characteristics of her poetic self. | ||
