| 520 | |b On his book A Textbook of Translation (1988 a:103), Peter Newmark has suggested 12 procedures to translate culture-specific items, namely: (1) transference (2) cultural equivalent (3) neutralization (i.e. functional or descriptive equivalent) (4) literal translation (5) label (6) naturalization (7) componential analysis (8) deletion (of redundant stretches of language in non-authoritative texts, especially metaphors and intensifiers) (9) couplet (10) accepted standard translation (11) paraphrase, gloss, notes, etc. and (12) classifier. Apart from few, facts prove that the majority of translators (especially students) do not apply most of these strategies in their translations. They usually resort to literal translation which is only and (according to Ghazalah poor) solution to translate cultural terms. This academic paper aims to explain these Newmarkan procedures in regard to English-Arabic-English translations. | ||
| 520 | |a اقترح بيتر نيو مارك في كتابه "كتاب في الترجمة (1988أ: 103) أثنا عشر طريقة لترجمة المواد ذات الطابع الثقافي، وهذه الطرق هي1-النسخ الصوتي أو الرسم اللفظي 2- المكافئ الثقافي 3-التحييد المكافئ ) الوصفي أو الوظيفي4-الترجمة الحرفية 5-الترجمة المشروطة أو المؤقتة 6-التطبيع 7-تحليل المكونات 8-الحذف 9-التثنية "الترجمة بدمج طريقتين معا"10- الترجمة المعيارية المقبولة 11- الشروح المقتضبة والملاحظات والمسرد 12- الكلمة المصنفة وباستثناء القلة، فإن الحقائق تثبت أن معظم المترجمين )خصوصا الطلاب منهم( لا يطبقون جل هذه الوسائل في تراجمهم بل يلجئون إلى الترجمة الحرفية والتي )حسب رأي بروفسور الترجمة حسن غزالة( تعتبر وسيلة رديئة لترجمة التعابير الثقافية، وتهدف الدراسة لتوضيح هذه الطرق فيما يتعلق بالترجمة من الإنجليزية إلى العربية والعكس والتنويه بأهميتها لحث المترجمين والطلاب على اللجوء إليها واستخدامها لحلحلة المشكلات الثقافية أثناء تراجمهم بين هاتين اللغتين. | ||
