| المستخلص: | إنّ أبا القاسم سعد الله المفكر، الموسوعة، قد صال وجال في العديد من مجالات المعرفة التاريخية، والفكرية، والأدبية، كتابةً ونقدًا ودراسةً وتحليلاً. وزار من أجل ذلك الكثير من بلدان العالم، مشرقًا ومغربًا، باحثًا عن الوثيقة والحقيقة في مضانّها، محتملاً التعب والفراق والغربة وشظف العيش، فترك لنا كنوزًا من المعرفة مكتوبة، وبعضها ما يزال مخطوطًا من مؤلفات شتّى ودراسات وتحقيقات، ومحاضرات مسجلة أو مكتوبة وبحوث ومقالات وترجمات...\nوبما أنّ المجال لا يتسع لذكرها، فيكفي أن اذكر ما قاله الدكتور أحمد حمدي من أنّ أبا القاسم "كان أول من اصدر ديونًا للشعر الجزائري الحديث "النصر للجزائر" سنة1967م، وأول من كشف عن أول رواية في الأدب العربي وهي رواية مصطفى بن إبراهيم في الوقت الذي كان الجميع يظنّ أنّ رواية هيكل "زينب" هي أول رواية عربية(35).\nهذا في المجال الأدبي، أمّا في مجال الدراسات التاريخية فيمكن أن أشير إلى العمل الجبار الذي لم يسبقه إليه أحد، وسيظل مفخرة له، ولبلاده ألا وهو تاريخ الجزائر الثقافي الذي غطى به مدة تجاوزت الأربعة قرون، فكان من الجهابذة الذين قلّ أن يجود بمثلهم الزمان، فاستحقّ بذلك عن جدارة لقب شيخ المؤرخين، ورغم كل ذلك فلم يكن راضٍ كل الرضى على ما قدّم وأنجز لهذا يقول: "لقد كنّا نأمل أن تكون جهودنا في خدمة تاريخ الجزائر والتاريخ العربي والإسلامي عمومًا أوسع وأعمق وأغرز، ولكن ضياع حقيبتي المحتوية على وثائقي وبطاقات عملي، ثم مرور الجزائر بأزمات سياسية واقتصادية، لها آثرها على الحياة العلمية والفكرية، كل ذلك جعل جهودنا، مهما صمدت وتضاعفت تقف دون طموحها المنشود. ومع ذلك نأمل أن نكون في الطريق الصحيح الذي رسمناه لأنفسنا، أو رسمه الله لنا منذ وعينا دورنا في الحياة، وهو خدمة الجزائر والإسلام والعربية والمعرفة الإنسانية في أوسع معانيها"(36).\nفهل أنصفنا هذا العالم في حياته؟ وهل بإمكاننا إنصافه بعد وفاته؟ ذاك ما ستبديه الأيام اللواحق. Abba al-Qasim Saad Allah, the intellectual and encyclopedia, learned and made his mark in fields of historical, intellectual, and literary knowledge as a writer, critic, student, and analyst. He visited many countries of the world, from east to west, looking for the books and the truth in their contents, while bearing the hardships of travel from fatigue, separation, and alienation to the hardness of living. He left us treasures of writing knowledge, some of which are still in the manuscript forms and not published and include various writings, studies and investigations, recorded or written lectures, research, articles, and translations. \n\nSince this space is not enough to mention all of them, it would be enough to mention what Dr. Ahmed Hamdi had to say about Abba al-Qasem that he “was the first to publish the collection of modern Algerian poetry {Victory for Algeria} in 1967”. He was also the first to reveal the first novel in Arabic literature, which is the novel written by Mustapha ibn Ibrahim, at a time when everyone thought Haykal's novel “Zainab” was the first Arabic novel (35).\nIn addition to his contribution to the literary field, he also contributed to historical studies, and I can refer to the monumental work to which no one can be compared with him, for which he would continue to be proud of himself and his country, which is the cultural history of Algeria that covered more than four centuries. His likes are rarely found, so he rightly deserved the title of the Sheikh of historians. Despite all the contributions he made, he was not completely satisfied with what he achieved and accomplished and, therefore used to say, “We hoped that our efforts in the service of Algeria's history and Arab and Islamic history, in general, would be broader and deeper, but the loss of my bag that contained documents and my worksheets, and then political and economic crises that Algeria witnessed, had an impact the scientific and intellectual life. This has made our efforts, no matter how long and multiplied, stand short of its desired ambition. However, we hope that we will be on the right path that we have drawn for ourselves or which has been drawn by Allah since we were aware of our role in life, which is to serve Algeria, Islam, Arab, and human knowledge in their broadest sense.
