| المستخلص: | يتناول هذا المقال ظاهرة الالتباس في اللغة التي كثيراً ما تطرق إليها الباحثون في دراساتهم، وذلك من خلال التعريف بها والإحاطة بمفهومها ومعالجتها من منظور تقابلي بين الإنكليزية والعربية. ويتضمن التعريف تحديدا وضبطا لبعض المصطلحات، حيث اعتمدنا فيه مجموعة من المصطلحات باللغة العربية للدلالة على هاته الظاهرة، وأبرزنا أن بعض المصطلحات المستعملة لا تصلح للدلالة على الظاهرة. كما تتطرق الدراسة بشيء من التفصيل إلى مختلف أنواع الالتباس التي تم الوقوف عليها في الدراسات اللسانية الحديثة، وفي ذلك إشارة خاصة إلى اللغة الإنكليزية باعتبارها مصدر غالبية الأمثلة التي تم سوقها في هذا البحث. Marked by its popularity in the human language, ambiguity is one of the most noticeable linguistic phenomena that have attracted the attention of researchers. The present paper is a contribution to the already existing literature on this academic issue. It is interesting in that it confronts the issue within a contrastive framework between English and Arabic through the examples cited in the study. A problematic area was how to use Arabic terms to name the English linguistic concepts accurately and to illustrate the confusion into which some writers have run when conducting their academic studies. Those terms are thought to be adequate and have been retained and used in the present paper. The different types of ambiguity are exposed in detail, with a particular reference to English as it is the source of the majority of the examples given in the study. |
