| 520 | |f This study is a working paper in English submitted by Laila Farsakh to the University of Massachusetts / Boston, in which she examines the causes of economic failure in the West Bank and Gaza Strip from 1993 to the present, that is, after the Oslo Agreement and the establishment of the Palestinian National Authority, and the developments that occurred during that period represented in the Israeli army’s occupation of the West Bank and later imposition of severe restrictions on it, the blockade of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian division, and the inability of the interim technocratic governments headed by Salam Fayyad to change the direction of the Palestinian economy, despite the infusion of huge international financial aid into this economy.
