| المستخلص: | لهذه الدراسة هدف هام وهو التعرف على الدافعية العقلية، ومستواها لدى متعلمي المرحلة الإعدادية، إضافة إلى العلاقة التي تربط التحصيل الدراسي، بمادة الإحياء. اعتمد المنهج التحليلي الوصفي، بالاستعانة بالاستبانة على مجموعة طلاب اختيروا عشوائيا، من متعلمي المرحلة الإعدادية بالعراق، أتت النتائج لتؤكد المستوى المتوسط من الدافعية العقلية لدى المتعلمين، ومستوى مرتفع من التحصيل الدراسي في مادة الإحياء. ووجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية (موجبة قوية) بين مستوى التحصيل المتعلمي مادة الأحياء، والدافعية العقلية. إضافة إلى فروق إحصائية بشكل متوسط بين مجموعة المتعلمين الذكور والإناث بمستوى التحصيل الدراسي والدافعية العقلية. وأوصت الدراسة بتبني طريقة خاصة في تعلم معارف مختلفة للطلاب محل الدراسة. وذلك من خلال اختيار الطريقة المناسبة في التعليم، لتحفيز الدافعية للتعلم. كما أوصت الدراسة بتبني طريقة خاصة تعطي تشوقا لمعرفة أشياء مختلفة، من خلال تحفيز الدافعية للتعلم وزيادة التحصيل العلمي. The study objective is to identify the amount of mental motivation among middle school students and its relationship with academic achievement in biology. The descriptive analytical approach was used, using the questionnaire, on a randomly selected sample of middle school students in Iraq. The statistical results showed that there is an average level of mental motivation among the learners, and a high level of academic achievement in Biology. And the existence of a direct positive correlation (strong positive) between mental motivation and academic achievement among learners in biology. And there are statistically high differences between the average of the group of male learners and the average of the group of female learners on the level of mental motivation and academic achievement. The study recommended the adoption of a special method in learning different knowledge for the students under study. This is done by selecting the best educational means to stimulate learning motivation.
