| المستخلص: | The current research is explicitly devoted to Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Color Purple, which is a celebration of African- American female sovereignty following a long journey of male oppression, sexism, and slavery. The present study operates under the Black feminist literary criticism approach; it highlights the role of profound female relationships in the life of Celie, a poor uneducated sexually abused black girl who finds the strength to emancipate herself from the evils of patriarchy and sexism with the help of the special women in her life. Alice Walker makes her female readers live a transformational cycle with subtleties to encourage them to take the initial move towards their freedom from male supremacy.
