| المستخلص: | Hero or anti-hero? That is the question. In an attempt to shed light on this reflection, we propose, through this article, a narratological reading in order to approach the main character, of the Serment des barbares (Oath of the Barbarians) by the french-speaking algerian author Boualem SANSAL, published by Gallimard in 1999. Brought to you by Inspector Larbi, this protagonist reflects by far the classic image of the detective. Is he then an anti-hero? Or on the contrary, is he a hero, because despite the dysfunctional society of the 1990s, he strives to preserve his humanistic values? These questionings will lead us towards the definition of the status of the antihero character as a satirical transformation of the archetypal hero. Héros ou antihéros? Telle est la question. Pour tenter d’éclaircir cette réflexion, nous proposons, à travers cet article, une lecture narratologique afin d’approcher le personnage principal, du Serment des barbares de l’auteur algérien Boualem SANSAL, publié chez Gallimard en 1999. Amené par l’inspecteur Larbi, ce protagoniste reflète de loin l’image classique du détective. Est-ce alors un antihéros? Ou au contraire c’est un héros, parce que malgré le dysfonctionnement de la société des années 1990, il s’efforce de préserver ses valeurs humanistes tout en exerçant sa fonction? Ces questionnements nous mèneront vers la définition du statut du personnage antihéros comme étant une transformation satirique du héros archétypal. |
