| المستخلص: | As far as the translation process is concerned, drama is viewed as one of the most complex and difficult genres to translate in terms of both form and content. It is difficult to render any dramatic text from one language into another, as the cultural background of the source text is likely to be very different from that of the target text. Accordingly, this Study aims at exploring some of the major problems of translating dramatic texts, drawing the reader’s attention to the particular difficulties of translating Shakespeare’s works into other languages in general and Arabic in particular, as these works consist of prose and verse. To be more specific, the Shakespearian texts constitute a major constraint for translators since any attempt to translate Shakespeare’s poetry will most probably affect the dramatic impact. Thus, this Study will be an investigation of how translators have continuously rewritten Shakespeare. |
