المستخلص:The purpose behind this paper is to examine the features of the Egyptian protesters’ spoken discourse in January the 25th, 2011. These features are examined in their context in order to categorize them in terms of their functions. This paper therefore is designed to highlight the significance of using such linguistic structures and how they affect and are affected by the discourse’s degree of formality. The analysis reveals that, there are specific linguistic features that distinguish the, protesters’ spoken discourse and many of these linguistic choices reflect the identity of the protesters.
