520 |b The study examined the research problem as a new form of communication that has changed the interactive environment on Facebook. It was conducted a few months after the launch of the service. Therefore, the study aims to provide a general overview of the nature of uses, gratifications and users’ assessments of this service, paving the way for subsequent studies that address this phenomenon's relationship with other phenomena, such as the relation of using live streaming in terrorist operations, as well as studies comparing live streaming on Facebook and other sites. The current study dealt with live broadcasts by ordinary users as the basis of the Facebook communication process, and there was no room to study the use of live broadcasts by official institutions and public figures to communicate with the public in parallel with the traditional channels. The researcher recommends that further studies be held on the Egyptian users of social media, in keeping with the technical developments that are being developed constantly, as statistics have confirmed that Egypt is the largest Arab country using Facebook which enhance its influence depending on usage patterns.
