| المستخلص: | تتناول هذه الدراسة حيثيات الشخصية الدينية التي وردت في روايات الروائي المصري نجيب محفوظ، وخصوصاً رواية زقاق المدق كأنموذج. في هذه الدراسة وجدنا أنه لا يظهر في هذه الرواية سمة الاتجاه الإسلامي، بل تظهر حسب قناعة الكاتب ودورها في المجتمع، ومدى حاجة الرواية إليها. والشخصية الدينية عند نجيب محفوظ لا تصل إلى درجة الكمال الإنساني الفني، ما لم تجمع بين العلم والإيمان، ويرى ضعف دور هذه الشخصية في إصلاح المجتمع، وهذا واضح في مسار دوره في معظم الرواية، ولا يرى البديل في حل مشكلات المجتمع إلا بالعلم، حيث إن الدين برأيه فشل في حل هذه المشكلات، أو تحقيق طموحات المجتمعات المعاصرة، لذلك فهو يقدم في روايته شخصية دينية عاجزة قاصرة، لا تمس الواقع بشيء، بل شخصية ضعيفة، تظهر أحياناً رمزاً للبلاهة والسذاجة المفرطة، ومثالاً للقذارة والشعوذة، وأنموذجاً للسلبية المشينة، علاقتها بالسياسة ضعيفة. أما عن المرأة (التي لها علاقة بالشخصية الدينية) في الرواية، فهي المرأة المطيعة والمظلومة، ولا تقوم بأي دور إيجابي أو فعال في المجتمع "أي أن تقوم بواجبها جنباً إلى جنب مع الرجل في مقاومة الاحتلال ومناهضة الظلم، و..". وفي عرض نجيب محفوظ لشخصياته الدينية، نلاحظ كثرة النماذج السلبية في رواياته، ونقد الحلول الغيبية لمعالجة المشاكل، وهذا راجع إلى الفكرة التي يحملها الكاتب. This study deals with the reasoning of the religious personality mentioned in the narratives of the Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz, in particular the story of the Madiq Alley as a model. In this study, we found that this novel does not show the characteristic of the Islamic trend. Rather, it appears according to the writer's conviction, its role in society, and the extent to which the novel needs it. Najib Mahfouz's religious personality does not reach the degree of artistic human perfection unless it combines science and faith. He sees the weakness of this character's role in reforming society. This is clear in the course of his role in most of the novel, and he sees no alternative in solving the problems of society except by science, as religion, in his opinion, failed to solve these problems Or the realization of the aspirations of contemporary societies, so he presents in his novel an incapacitated religious personality that does not affect reality in anything, but rather a weak personality. They sometimes show a symbol of stupidity and excessive naivety, an example of filth and sorcery, a model of shameful negativity, whose relationship to politics is weak. As for the women (who has something to do with the religious personality) in the novel, They are obedient and oppressed women, and they do not play any positive or effective role in society “that is, to do their duty side by side with men in resisting occupation and fighting injustice And...”.
