| المستخلص: | الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على نبينا محمد سيد المرسلين، وشفيعنا يوم الدين، وأله الطيبين الطاهرين ومن تبعهم إلى يوم الدين وبعد... إن التاريخ هو سجل لحوادث الماضي وذكرى وعبرة ودراسة لما مر على الدول ولأعمال العظماء، وقد أنجبت الأمة العربية الإسلامية الكثير من العلماء والأبطال والولاة والمؤرخين الذين برزت كتاباتهم، والتي اتسمت بالأصالة في الفكر والتعمق في فهم العلوم الإسلامية والسعه في الاطلاع، وقد عكس ذلك على غزارة مؤلفاتهم في مجال الفقه والتفسير والحديث والتاريخ والفلسفة. ولدراسة التاريخ لابد من الدقة في نقله وضبطه، وقرأته وتمحيصه وتدقيقه وتنقيته مما أختلط به، ليخرج مشرقاً ناصعاً، فينفع الناس قال تعالى: (فَأَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَاءً وَأَمَّا مَا يَنْفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ). وأن دراسة الروايات التاريخية بكتاب ابن عبد البر تكاد تكون قليلة وصعوبة بانتقائها، تناولنا فيها الجانب السياسي، والحضاري، والاجتماعي، والاقتصادي من خلال ذكره للأحاديث الشريفة وتواريخ الخلفاء الراشدين، والأمويين، والعباسيين.
