| المستخلص: | ليس في التوظيف السياسي والاقتصادي لكرة القدم الذي نشهد تزايده اليوم، وفي الصراعات عليها وعبرها، ما هو جديد فعلاً. فاللعبة الأوسع شعبية في العالم تحولت منذ ثلاثينيات القرن الماضي وانطلاق مسابقات كأس العالم إلى ميدان تتداخل فيه المسائل الرياضية والسياسية والقومية، تماماً كما تداخلت ولا تزال مسائل طبقية وجهوية ومذهبية. على أن الجديد اليوم هو حجم الأموال المستثمرة في اللعبة وفي الحقل الإعلامي- الإعلاني المرتبط بها، وبحث دول صغرى غنية ورجال أعمال دول كبرى أو صاعدة عن مشروعيات قد تتيحها لهم كرة القدم وحضورهم فيها للترويج لإنجازاتهم. هنا استعادة تاريخية لتطور مراحل ارتباط كرة القدم بقضايا تتخطى ميدانها، وعرض لبعض أوجه الاستثمار والصراع الذي يدور حولها، وخصوصاً المنافسة العربية الخليجية والحضور الكثيف منذ عقدين للصراع الفلسطيني - الإسرائيلي في بطولات أوروبا وأميركا اللاتينية، كما في أروقة "الفيفا". The political and economic use of football, the increase of which we are witnessing today, and in conflicts over and across it, is not really new. Since the 1930s, the world's most popular game has turned into a field where sports, political, and national issues overlap, just like the class, regional, and sectarian issues. However, what is new today is the amount of money invested in the game and in the media- advertising field associated with it. Rich small countries and business people of major or emerging countries look for projects that football may offer them and seek their presence in such projects to promote their achievements. Here is a historical recollection of the evolution of the stages of football's association with issues that transcend its field, and a presentation of some aspects of investment and conflict that surround it, especially the ArabGulf competition and the heavy presence of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the European and Latin American championships, as well as in the corridors of "FIFA".
