520 |b The main of this paper is to explore and present the employee involvement policies and practices in multinational oil companies operating in Libya and to illustrate the extent to which these practices are influenced by their western stakeholders. The second aim is to present the employee involvement and participation practices at EniGas and explore the external factors that have been shaped the EIP practices. Our third aim is discuss the conclusion and to provide some guidance for future research in this field. A case study has been used also a mix of the two methods was chosen for this study. Within this overall approach, the particular instruments of questionnaire, semi structured/structured interviews where feasible, and observation of certain employees, are considered appropriate to obtain the required information and data from the company involved. This combination of data collection methods is normally referred as triangulation (Yin, 2003). The descriptive results from the individual differences among the perceptions of employees and managers provides a model of Libyan employee involvement practices which are inherited from the NOC and there is less influence observed from the ENI group. Results also show that EIP practices are tactical in nature and employees have a great degree of control at the individual job level and departmental level.
