المستخلص: | The safety and benefits of food processed by ionizing radiation are well documented. This study aims to know the opinion and attitude of the consumers as well as to what extent they accept or refuse to buy some fresh plant food preserved by gamma radiation such as onion, garlic, potatoes, strawberry , mango, orange when available on the market . This field study was carried out by food irradiation department- Atomic energy Authority with the department of house economy Menia university . Cairo , Kalyobia ,Giza , Minea ,Asuyat , Sohage governorate were selected to carry out this study. The characteristics of sample were ( 1392 ) poll sheet were collected by random stratified sample was taken to represent. The questionnaire was supported with simplified information about the use of atomic energy and radiation for peaceful purpose and other alternative methods for using to save food. The results obtained from this study were, its clear that 58% of the total sample size accepted to buy irradiated fresh vegetables if its available in the markets while the objection was 15% and convinced were 27%. The model of the multi regression analysis was carried out between(independent variable ) was the local consumer Attitude towards buying some fresh plant food preserved by gamma radiation and ( dependent variables ) were technical , environmental , marketing and hygienic. The results were R2 =.932 and F Test = 607.695 (high significant). The results were R =.53 and F Test =12.96 (significant). |
