| المستخلص: | تناولت في البحث (التطور السياسي لإقليم سرت خلال العصر الإسلامي)، وهي حقبة زمنية مهمة تمتد لما يقرب عن ستمائة عام وتعد القاعدة الإسلامية الحقيقية للإقليم، إذ تبدأ بالفتح الإسلامي في القرن الأول الهجري وحتى نهاية القرن السادس الهجري. واخترت الموضوع بهدف دراسة جوانبه المختلفة، لأن معظم المؤرخين أرخوا لإفريقية ومدن بلاد المغرب الرئيسية ولم يتعرضوا بشيء من التفصيل للتاريخ السياسي لإقليم سرت في هذه الفترة كما إن المصادر التي تتحدث عن الموضوع ترصد إشارات بسيطة يكتنفها الغموض والاضطراب رغم أهمية التطورات السياسية التي شهدها والمؤثرة في التاريخ السياسي الإسلامي لبلاد المغرب عامة وإقليم سرت خاصة ولهذا لا تخفى صعوبة الخوض في هذا الموضوع الشاق من حيث تتبع الأحداث السياسية والتحركات البشرية لنستخلص منها مادة علمية أكاديمية مرتبة حسب التطور السياسي الزمني لإقليم سرت. واتبعت في البحث المنهج التاريخي الذي يعتمد على السرد والوصف والتحليل والترجيح للأحداث التاريخية للوصول إلى الحقائق التاريخية؛ والتي ستكون معينا للباحثين في خوض غماره بالتفصيل لكشف تاريخ الإقليم بدقة وموضوعية.
