| المستخلص: | Although capital stock is an important and multi-purpose data , especially for national accounts statistics and estimating production functions of macroeconomic models , few trials have been found in the literature for estimating it for the case of Egypt. All of these trials were at the aggregate level. The main purpose of this paper is to estimate the capital stock of the Egyptian economy at the sectoral level (10 major economic sectors ). This paper is structured as following: Firstly, a literature survey to the methodologies of capital stock estimation is analyzed and presented. Secondly, the previous trials of estimating capital stock for the Egyptian economy are summarized. Finally, the researcher estimates for the capital stock , as well as capital-output ratios, of major 10 economic sectors during the period 1982/83 - 2001/2002 are presented. The study data and results are included in the appendix of the paper. |
