| المستخلص: | تعد عملية اختيار تخصص في إحدى الكليات والجامعات قرارا استراتيجياً ومحطة رئيسية في حياة الطالب، تتطلب اتخاذ قرار جريء على مدى فترة من الزمن مرتبطة بالانتهاء من مقررات دراسية معينة، وهو قرار ثقيل وخطير وذو أبعاد وانعكاسات على مستقبل الطالب بعد مرحلة التخرج من الجامعة. ومع ذلك فمن الشائع آن يلجأ الطالب إلي تقليد غيره من الزملاء والأصدقاء في اختيار التخصص الأكاديمي، مع معرفته المسبقة آن اختياره لا يخضع لعقلانية، كما لا يتردد بعضهم في وصف هذه الظاهرة بإجرائه الخاص في اختيار التخصص، وهذا ما أدى إلى الإقبال بكثرة على بعض التخصصات كالمحاسبة في كلية العلوم الإدارية، والنفور من بعضها كتخصص إدارة نظم المعلومات\n. من آجل فهم أعمق لهذه الظاهرة تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى تحقيق الأهداف الرئيسية الآتية: (أ) فهم عوامل إقبال طلاب الجامعة على اختيار تخصص إدارة نظم المعلومات في بيئة كويتية وعوامل عزوفهم عنه. (ب) استقصاء وجود علاقة ارتباط بين دوافع الاتجاه لاختيار تخصص نظم المعلومات والنية في اختيار هذا التخصص. (ج) استقصاء دور العوامل الديموغرافية متمثلة في متغيري الجنس والعمر والمقررات التمهيدية المرتبطة بنظم المعلومات والمعدل التراكمي ونوعية قطاع العمل المراد الالتحاق به وعدد السنين التي قضاها الطلبة بالكلية في الاتجاه نحو اختيار تخصص إدارة نظم المعلومات. استخدمت الدراسة منهجية بحثية مزجت بين طريقتين: الأولي نوعية بإجراء حوارات مفتوحة مع 195 مبحوثاً والثانية كمية باستخدام استبانة شملت 415 مبحوثاً من أجل إلقاء فهم بخصوص هذا الموضوع يناقش البحث نتائج الدراسة ويقترح عدة توصيات أكاديمية وأخري تطبيقية من اجل زيادة إقبال الطلبة على تخصص إدارة نظم المعلومات. The process of selecting a speciality in a college and university is a strategic decision and a major milestone in the student's life. It requires a bold decision over a period associated with the completion of certain courses. However, it is common for the student to resort to imitating other colleagues and friends in choosing an academic specialization, with prior knowledge that his choice is not subject to rationality. Some of them do not hesitate to describe this phenomenon as their procedure in choosing a speciality, which led to a big interest in some disciplines such as accounting at the College of Administrative Sciences, and aversion to some of them as a specialisation in information systems management. For a deeper understanding of this phenomenon, this study seeks to achieve the following main objectives: (a) To understand the factors of university students' willingness to choose the speciality of information systems management in a Kuwaiti environment and their reluctance to do so. (b) Investigate a correlation between the motivations for the selection of the information systems speciality and the intention to choose that speciality. (c) Investigate the role of demographic factors, such as gender and age variables, preliminary courses related to information systems, the cumulative rate, the quality of the employment sector to be enlisted, and the number of years students spent in college moving towards choosing a specialization in information systems management. The study used a research methodology that blended two methods: the first qualitative by conducting open dialogues with 195 researchers and the second quantitative using a questionnaire that included 415 researchers in order to provide an understanding on this topic.
