| المستخلص: | أن مفاهيم السيادة الأوروبية أوجدت صراعات عربية من أجل الاستقلال وتأكيد الذات وكانت هي نفسها صراعات ضد الدول الأوروبية، وأصبح الأمر يدور بين ذاكرة استعمارية في شمال البحر المتوسط وبين ذاكرة منهكة بالتجارب في جنوبه، فإن العلاقة الأوروبية المصرية التي تميزت بالشمولية وبحمل صفات ثقل التراث التاريخي، بدأت في التطور من خلال طبيعة العلاقات السياسية التي ربطت بين مصر وبين دول أوروبا خاصة الدول الكبرى في القارة الأوروبية وهي إنجلترا وفرنسا وإيطاليا وألمانيا فيما قبل عام ١٩٥٢، وتشير وقائع التطور التاريخي في العلاقات المصرية الأوروبية أن مصر تمتعت مع الجانب الأوروبي بعلاقات متباينة غير أنها جميعا كانت علاقات مميزة قياسا بالعلاقات بين الدول الأوروبية وباقي دول منطقة الشرق الأوسط فعلي الرغم من أن مصر في تلك الفترة لم تكن مستقلة وكانت خاضعة للهيمنة البريطانية التي كانت تمنع مصر من الاستقلال بإرادتها السياسية علي المستوي الخارجي إلا أن هناك جوانب أخري في العلاقات بين مصر والجانب الأوروبي ومن أهم تلك الجوانب العلاقات الثقافية التي ربطت بين مصر والجانب الأوروبي خاصة دولتي فرنسا وإيطاليا.
