| المستخلص: | هدف البحث الحالي إلى تحديد استراتيجيات تعلم المفردات اللغوية والتعرف على ما إذا كانت هناك علاقة ارتباطية بين هذه الاستراتيجيات وكل من حجم المفردات اللغوية والفهم القرائي . كما هدف البحث أيضا إلى التعرف على ما إذا كانت هناك علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائيا بين حجم المفردات اللغوية والفهم القرائي. \ تكونت مجموعة البحث من (60) طالبة من طالبات الصف الأول الثانوي بمدينة أسيوط، وتمثلت أدوات البحث في: (1) اختبار Nation (2007) المعياري لحجم المفردات اللغوية، (2) استبيان استراتيجيات المفردات اللغوية، (3) اختبار الفهم القرائي. \ توصلت نتائج البحث إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائياً بين حجم المفردات اللغوية وأبعاد استبيان استراتيجيات تعلم المفردات اللغوية عند مستوى (0.01)، أسفرت نتائج البحث أيضاً عن وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائياً بين الفهم القرائي واستراتيجيات تعلم المفردات اللغوية لدى عينة البحث عند مستوى (0.01). \ أوضحت نتائج البحث أيضاً وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائياً عند مستوى (0.01) بين حجم المفردات اللغوية والفهم القرائي لدى عينة البحث. \ أوضحت النتائج أيضاً أن استراتيجيات التقرير هي أفضل الاستراتيجيات تنبؤ بحجم المفردات اللغوية والفهم القرائي لدى الطلاب عينة البحث. وقد خلص البحث إلى أن استراتيجيات تعلم المفردات اللغوية لها أثر إيجابي على حجم المفردات اللغوية والفهم القرائي لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية. \ The present research aimed to identify students' vocabulary learning strategies and to investigate if there is a correlation between such strategies and students' vocabulary size and their reading comprehension. The research aimed also at investigating if there is a statistically significant positive correlation between students' vocabulary size and their reading comprehension. \ A Vocabulary Learning Strategies Questionnaire (VLSQ), Nation's Standardized Vocabulary Size Test (VST-Nation, 2007) and Reading Comprehension Test (RCT), were administered to (60) first year secondary school students in the city of Assiut. \ Results showed a statistically significant correlation between students' vocabulary size and sub- scales of the vocabulary learning strategies questionnaire at (0.01) level. A relatively high correlation was also found between students' reading comprehension and sub¬scales of vocabulary learning strategies questionnaire ranging from (0.65) to (0.80). A statistically significant positive correlation at (0.01) level was also found between students' vocabulary size and their reading comprehension. \ The category of determination strategies was the best predictor of students' vocabulary size. Multiple regression analysis showed that the category of determination strategies was the best one in predicting students' reading comprehension. Therefore, the present research revealed that vocabulary learning strategies have a positive impact on secondary school students' vocabulary size and on their reading comprehension \ |
