So, it is a way of life that differentiates one group from another. Its definition and or meaning is changeable from place to place and from time to time. There are different sources of culture such as religion, language, history and physical reality. Language has a great influence on culture and provides it with its substance. This paper sheds light on the concept "culture' its theories and meanings. It goes in detail to show the relation between language and culture since it a point of debate between scholars who have tried, in vein, to answer the question whether language overrides culture or vise versa. \ The paper has come across the relationship between cultural overlap and translation. Cultural overlap to some degree enables us to understand the descriptions of the semantic structure of other languages that appear in the sociolinguistic and anthropological lieratrature. Transaltion is difficult unless there is an area of overlap to some extent between the culture of the SL and that of TL. The paper also shows the relation between culture and language teaching; Culture influences language teaching in two ways: linguistic and pedagogical. Linguistically, it affects the semantic, pragmatic, and discourse levels of the language. Pedagogically, it influences the choice of the language material. It ends with a section about comparative Linguistics and culture. \ Culture materials are the study of the geographical distribution of cultural traits, which reads historical depth into spatially arranged data. In the modest sense, comparative linguistics is but one example of this approach.
