| المستخلص: | يسلط هذا البحث الأضواء على انعكاسات العزلة الفعلية في حياة أميلي ديكنسون في قصائدها، بعد أن يحدد أسباب عزلتها عن البيئة الاجتماعية التي عاشت فيها سواء كانت عزوبيتها أو اختيارها المحض. \ وقد تم اختيار هذا الجانب في حياة أميلي د يكنسون لأنها عرفت بأصالتها في الشعو، وتمكنت بفضل تلك الأصالة أن نتبوأ مكانة مرموقة بين شعراء القرن التاسع عشر في أميركا، وحصلت على هذه المنزلة الرفيعة بعد وفاتها بمدة طويلة بعد أن تمكن الدارسون من التوصل إلى معرفة الأبعاد الإنسانية في أشعارها. ورغم جهود الدارسين في الكشف عن تلك الأبعاد إلا أنها لا تزال أحجية كتبت شعرا عظيما. \ ويظهر من الدراسات التي تناولت حياة هذه الشاعرة المبدعة ان تلك العزلة الاجتماعية لم تفرض عليها إنما هي التي اختارتها بمحض إرادتها لتوفر لنفسها الحرية والأجواء التي تمكنها من الانصراف كليا للشعر. \ وكان لعزلة ديكنسون الاجتماعية تأثيرات واضحة على أشعارها فقد تميزت بالأصالة، والإثارة والتحدي لأعراف المجتمع الذي عاشت فيه ولمألوفاته، وأضحت من أكثر شعراء أميركا إثارة للإعجاب والاهتمام، وجعلت القراء والدارسين يتدافعون إلى قراءة قصائدها والتمعن فيها بهدف معوقة لغز هذه الشاعرة المبدعة وخفاياها. \ The present research-paper deals with isolation in Emily Dick-inson's poetry, which is a reflection of the actual isolation that marked her life. Whether this isolation is due to her being single (spinster), or a deliberate choice to protect herself from the out¬side world, it is intended as a way to escape the social obligations and take the privilege that permits her time and space to write, to liberate her mind and creativity, and to achieve the supremacy of the individual soul. \ Known for her originality, Emily Dickinson is a highly regard¬ed 19th century poet although she gained much popularity after her death. Having lived a «hermetic life'» she remains an enigma which befits a person who produced such great works. \ Her choice of isolating herself from the rest of the world made her quite singular. It is an aspect that most critics and scholars take into consideration when analyzing her work. There are traces of isolation that can be noted in her poems. The effects of having been isolated from the world are likewise evident that contrib¬uted to her being one of America's well-admired poets who made a mark in American literature. Those traces may be found along with her defiance to conform to the norms and dictates of society. Moreover, isolation gave her the freedom to write uninhibitedly; this made her work rather interesting, driving scholars and read¬ers to try to dig deeper into the psyche of this enigmatic poet. \ |
