المستخلص:It is often both outstanding military nuclear technologies and major international powers’ political calculations that lead to the provision of one country or another with nuclear weapons. Such dependent countries have had a domino effect on their regional milieus, like that of Israel on the Middle East, including Iran. In its turn, Tehran may do the same with its neighbours like Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, leading to an endless vicious circle. \ It seems that Iran’s possession of a nuclear weapon is only a question of time. On the one hand, it has taken a strategic approach benefiting from previous experiences in the region. On the other hand, it has employed the central status of the Middle East in global political competition. Therefore, from a geostrategic perspective, any clash between Tehran and the Gulf Cooperation Council states would be useless. The former is regionally isolated and can only gain strategic significance by contacting these states. Furthermore, such weaponry will not grant Tehran the upper hand against them or any other countries in the region. This is simply because Saudi Arabia may obtain such a weapon or other nuclear powers will probably be present to maintain political regional balance. \ In the meantime, the Arab states need to cooperate with each other as well as with other countries – like Turkey, Azerbaijan and Pakistan – as well as employ their relations and influence with Iran along with other regional powers to bring about a new setting.
