Therefore, this paper seeks to investigate into the nature of this term by tracing the history of its incidence in literature and criticism, and exploring its function in Everyman, the well-known moral play. It is in the light of these findings that this study proceeds to examine the Arabic translations of "allegory" and proposes a way to dispel the problematics of the multiplicity of these Arabic renditions. | ||
