المستخلص:The study aims to portray women role in decision making positions, in high administrative jobs, in the important ministers and organizations in the state, in parliamentary and local councils and their participation in family decision making. The study ended with the following results:- 1- In spite of high female participation in different work fields, their participation in high administrative positions is still limited compared that of males up till 2004. where most of ministers are males and there is only one woman as vice - minister. 2- percentage of women in high administrative positions in government, public and business sector is about 35% in 2004. 3- women occupied about one third of the first degree jobs in tourism sector and their least participation is in the defence, the security and the justice sectors. 4- In the field of public and business sector, women occupied about 40% of the first degree jobs in health, social and religious fields and their least participation is in the fields of manufacture, petroleum and mineral wealth (about 6%). 5- percentage of women in high administrative jobs in same ministers ranged from 40% to 56%. 6- there is 37 women occupied the position of ambassador class A, 23 women as minister plenipotentiary and 45 women as diplomatic attache in foreign affairs ministry. 7- women occupied judge position for the first time in Egypt in 2003. 8- In spite of the increase in the number of women registered in the electoral lists, percent of females in people's assembly don't exceed 1.8% of the total members in 2005 and their percentage in Al-shura council increased from 3.3% in 1980 to 7.5% in 2002. As well as their participation in the discussion is effective. 9- concerning women participation in family decision making, it is remarkable where about 40% of women have the only say of the treatment of their children. They share their husbands the decisions of having more children, the use of family planning methods, education and marriage of children.
