| المستخلص: | تناقش الدراسة موضوع النرجسية في الأدب الكندي المعاصر في بعض الأعمال الرئيسة لكل من: "مارغريت لورانس" و"روبرت كرويتش" و"مارغريت آتوود"؛ وكيف جسدت أعمالهم في إطار أزمة الهوية الكندية عناصر من أسطورة نركسوس» التي ساعدت في تشكيل أبنية الكثير من الأدب المعاصر. كما تهدف الدراسة إلى تقصي الطريقة التي تؤثر بها أسطورة «نركسوس» على اختيار ومعالجة الرموز والصور والشخصيات في الأدب الكندي المعاصر. وتقوم الدراسة على المنهجين: التحليلي للنصوص، والتحليل النفسي، في سبر الأغوار النفسية للشخصيات النرجسية المفترضة ظاهريا في الرواية الكندية؛ حيث تأتي الشخصيات النرجسية في هذه الأعمال كنتيجة لما تفرزه التغيرات الاجتماعية من تأثيرات سيكولوجية على مظاهر الشخصية: آفاق الفردية، وتشكيل الهوية، وإشكالية التعالي. ومن ثم تركز الدراسة أيضا. على تحديد السمات الخاصة للانشغال الحالي بالذات التي تبرر تصنيف الأدب الكندي المعاصر بأنه نرجسي؛ بالإضافة إلى إدراك مدى التحول الذي جعل مفهوم الذات أو الهوية مثاليا نتيجة السلسلة من الكفاح. ضد المجتمع القمعي واضطهاد الأمم الأخرى كما هو الحال مع الكنديين أنفسهم. ومن هنا، تميط الدراسة اللثام وتخلص إلى حقيقة أن مشكلة "تحقيق الذات" في المجتمع الكندي لا تتأتى فقط إلا من خلال العلاقة بالآخر؛ بمعنى أنه يمكن للكنديين التغلب على مشاكلهم النفسية، واستعادة توازنهم النفسي، وإدراك هويتهم فقط إذا ما أدركوا حقيقة أنفسهم، وكذلك واقع الأخرين. The study discusses the theme of narcissism in modern Canadian literature in some major works of Margaret Lawrence, Margaret Atwood, and Robert Kroetsch. It analyzes how, in the context of the Canadian identity crisis, their works incorporated elements of the Narcissus myth that had helped shape the signifying structures of much contemporary literature. The study also aims at investigating how the myth of «Narcissus» influences the selection and treatment of symbols, images, and characters in contemporary Canadian literature. The study adopts the text-analytic and psychoanalytic approaches in probing the psychological depths of the ostensibly supposed narcissistic characters in the Canadian novel. The Narcissistic characters in these works appear because of the psychological effects that social changes produce on the manifestations of personality: perspectives of individuality, identity formation and the questionability of transcendence. Hence, the study also focuses on identifying the features of the current preoccupation with the self that justify the classification of contemporary Canadian literature as narcissistic; in addition to recognizing the extent of the shift to which the concept of self or identity has been idealized because of a series of struggles against oppressive society and the oppression of other nations as the case with the Canadians themselves. Thus, the study also unveils the fact that the problem of «self-realization» in the Canadian society does not come out only through the relationship with the other; that is, the Canadians can overcome their psychological problems, restore their psychological balance, and realize their identity, only if they realize the truth about themselves, as well as the reality of others. |
