| المستخلص: | Public health decision-making is critically dependent on to the timely availability of necessary and relevant information. This paper deals with the issue of the performance of the national health information system. The objective is to show its contribution in terms of decision-making for the control of health expenditure as well as the improvement of the health status of the population. In this context, we presented the evaluation of the national health information system for Algeria made in collaboration between the World Health Organization and the National Institute of Public Health and we studied a component of the information system of a few health establishments using a survey conducted in February 2019. The results of the evaluation classified the national health information system in the category “exists but not satisfactory”, we also noted shortcomings which influence on the quality of the information, in particular the availability, reliability, relevance and completeness. La prise de décisions de santé publique repose de manière déterminante sur la disponibilité en temps opportun de l’information nécessaire et pertinente. L’article traite la problématique de la performance du système national d’information sanitaire. L’objectif est de montrer son apport en matière de prise de décision pour la maitrise des dépenses de santé ainsi que l’amélioration de l’état de santé de la population. Dans ce contexte, nous avons présenté l’évaluation du système national d’information sanitaire pour l’Algérie faite en collaboration entre l’Organisation Mondiale de Santé et l’Institut National de Santé publique et nous avons étudié un volet du système d’information de quelques établissements sanitaires à l’aide d’une enquête menée en Février 2019. Les résultats de l’évaluation ont classé le système d’information national sanitaire dans la catégorie « existe mais pas satisfaisant », nous avons relevé aussi des insuffisances qui influent sur la qualité de l’information notamment la disponibilité, la fiabilité, la pertinence et l’exhaustivité. |
