المستخلص:The design and development of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses play an essential role in the process of addressing the language needs of students in academic and professional contexts. Designing an ESP course requires undeniable attention as it ensures that students acquire the language skills and communicative competence necessary for success in their chosen disciplines. Thus, the aim of this article is to explore the significance of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course design by delving into key components such as the teacher factor, 21st century skills for ESP students, needs analysis, syllabus design, material development, and ESP assessment, and explaining the reasons why these components are essential for addressing the specific language needs of learners. As a result, examining relevant research, this article is expected to equip ESP teachers, course designers, material developers to construct ESP courses utilizing systematic frameworks.
