Learning a foreign language allows the learner to modify and transform the way he looks at himself and at the Other. |d L’enseignement des langues étrangères ne se réduit pas à faire acquérir à l’apprenant des savoirs linguistiques, mais a pour objectif majeur de façonner un citoyen qui se connait, qui s’accepte, qui reconnaît l’Autre dans sa différence et l’accueille. Ainsi le cours de français constitue, à travers le dispositif pédagogique élaboré, le lieu propice pour un dialogue fructueux d’une multitude de cultures - sources avec une culture - cible. L’enseignant, dans son rôle de médiateur culturel s’accorde non seulement la tâche de faire connaître l’Autre tout en se valorisant, mais vise aussi à construire des savoirs nouveaux en s’appuyant sur les représentations et les stéréotypes que peuvent avoir les apprenants sur l’Autre et sa culture.
