| المستخلص: | S’attacher à sa culture d’origine : est-ce un signe de progrès ou de regrès ? Dans quelle perspective faudrait-il le comprendre, sur quelle base et dans quel sens ? Et quel est l’apport original de Will Kymlicka1 à cet égard ? Dans cet article, en nous appuyant sur l’autorité de quelques penseurs de base dont Will Kymlicka dans le domaine de la philosophie éthicopolitique, on essayera de projeter quelque lumière sur la conception libérale de l’appartenance culturelle à l’ère actuelle. Notre but principal sera de souligner le rôle et la place particulière qu’occupe dans la vie des hommes l’appartenance culturelle, mais qui pourrait, d’ailleurs, prendre parfois des formes d’obsession, de narcissisme pathologique et d’idolâtrie pour ne pas dire de divinisation du groupe pour certains. On attire l’attention sur d’éventuelles dérives pareilles tout en mettant l’accent sur le but principal de notre vie en commun qui se cristallise autour de la formation d’une unité nationale qui transcende les appartenances particulières, pour garantir à tout individu quelles que soient sa culture ou son origine, la vie digne et les libertés fondamentales dans le cadre d’un État de droit progressiste qui favorise la tolérance, le dialogue et l’ouverture aux autres. Le présent article projette quelque lumière sur l’une des idées fondamentales de la pensée de Will Kymlicka, penseur canadien contemporain, célèbre par ses travaux sur le multiculturalisme. Il s’agit, en fait, de la nécessité de création d’un espace public libre et progressiste où le droit à l’appartenance culturelle pourrait s’exprimer en toute confiance et sécurité, loin de tout risque de quelque nature que ce soit. Partant du bouillonnement culturel dont témoigne notre modernité, cet article met l’accent sur l’importance et le rôle crucial de l’appartenance culturelle à promouvoir le développement de l’individu dans la dialectique de son évolution dans son rapport avec l’autre (Fichte et Hegel). Cette étude met en garde des dangers de la communautarisation qui mènera, nécessairement, à la discrimination et, de là, à l’affrontement et à la violence. Une révolution au niveau de la formation et de l’éducation est alors toujours de grande nécessité. Mais sur quelle base doit-elle se faire ? Individuelle ou collective ? L’originalité de notre penseur canadien, Will Kymlicka, trouve son chemin pour pouvoir concilier entre les deux d’une manière géniale propre à la lui. Attaching yourself to your original culture: is this a sign of progress or regression? From what perspective should it be understood, on what basis and in what sense? And what is Will Kymlicka1’s original contribution in this regard? In this article, relying on the authority of some basic thinkers including Will Kymlicka in the field of ethicopolitical philosophy, we will try to shed some light on the liberal conception of cultural belonging in the current era. Our main goal will be to highlight the role and the particular place that cultural belonging occupies in the lives of men, but which could, moreover, sometimes take forms of obsession, pathological narcissism and idolatry to avoid not to say deification of the group for some. Attention is drawn to such possible excesses while emphasizing the main goal of our life together which crystallizes around the formation of a national unity which transcends particular affiliations, to guarantee to all individuals what whatever their culture or origin, a dignified life and fundamental freedoms within the framework of a progressive rule of law which promotes tolerance, dialogue and openness to others. This article sheds some light on one of the fundamental ideas in the thought of Will Kymlicka, a contemporary Canadian thinker, famous for his work on multiculturalism. It is, in fact, the need to create a free and progressive public space where the right to cultural belonging could be expressed with complete confidence and security, far from any risk of any kind. Based on the cultural ferment evidenced by our modernity, this article emphasizes the importance and crucial role of cultural belonging in promoting the development of the individual in the dialectic of his evolution in his relationship with the other (Fichte and Hegel). This study warns of the dangers of communitarianization, which will necessarily lead to discrimination and, from there, to confrontation and violence. A revolution in training and education is therefore always very necessary. But on what basis should it be done? Individual or collective?
