المستخلص:Speaking is one of the most critical abilities in the study of English language and is always being developed and improved as a tool for efficient communication. Many university students find it challenging to communicate in spoken English in most English classes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the psychological factors that have a significant impact on Gharian University undergraduates' speaking fluency. The study employs a questionnaire and an interview as its two main research methods. Ten English students from three different English departments of English were chosen to form a sample of thirty participants. All of the participants belong to Gharian University. All of the participants have taken English-speaking courses throughout their first and second years. Ten students were picked randomly from a group of thirty for the interviews. The results show that the main factor influencing students‟ oral fluency is fear of making mistakes, which is followed by inhibition, anxiety, lack of motivation, and lack of confidence issues. The majority of students felt that encouraging them to be more confident in their English speaking is something that is worth taking into consideration. As a result, some helpful recommendations were made, including possible remedy to overcome those psychological problems. This result shows that teachers should be more cognizant of their students' barriers to speaking in class and exert more effort to reduce learners' challenges with oral fluency
