| المستخلص: | يسلط البحث الضوء من خلال الوثائق البريطانية على شخصية فرحان الرحمة الذي كان له إسهام في عدد من المهمات التي كلفه بها البريطانيون إبان الحرب العالمية الأولى، فيمهد بنبذة من سيرته الذاتية وبيان الوهم الذي وقع في تحديد نسبه وتاريخ مولده ومكانه، وحياته الوظيفية، ويشير إلى الغموض الذي اكتنف مصيره بعد هجره بلده وانقطاع صلته بأسرته، ثم يتناول البحث إشراك فرحان الرحمة في البعثة البريطانية إلى نجد والحجاز التي جاءت محاولة لتخفيف الاحتقان بين الملك عبدالعزيز والشريف حسين بعد تفاقم الخلافات بينهما على إثر القيود التي وضعها الشريف على قدوم الحجاج النجديين للحج، وبروز الحضور القوي لفرحان في المباحثات بين الطرفين في الرياض ثم في مكة المكرمة. This article sheds light on the personality of Farhan al-Rahma through British documents. He participated in a number of tasks assigned to him by the British during the First World War. It begins with a discussion of his life, particularly to the error in discussions of his origin, date and place of birth, and employment history and also considers the vagueness about his life after his left his homeland and the reasons for which he cut off ties with his family. The article then goes on to deal with his participation in the British mission to Najd and the Hijaz whose goal was to lessen tensions between King Abdulaziz and Sharif Hussein after the disagreements between them had become aggravated in light of the restrictions the Sharif has imposed on Najdis wishing to perform the pilgrimage to Makkah. Attention is given to Farhan al Rahma’s strong presence in the negotiations between the two parties in Riyadh and Makkah al-Mukarramah. |
