| المستخلص: | رصد البحث عددا من سمات اللغة الشارحة في المعجم الوسيط منها: 1. الشرح بالمرادف، وهو في الغالب مرادف مهجور أو نادر الاستعمال لا يعين على الفهم. 2. الشرح بعبارة بها مفردة أو أكثر من المهجور أو الغريب الذي يحتاج بدوره إلى شرح. 3. تتجاهل العبارة الشارحة المرادف الشائع المأنوس، وبخاصة عند أرباب الحرف، كما تتجاهل أدوات الحياة المعاصرة في المأكل والمشرب والملبس. 4. يكثر في اللغة الشارحة الاعتماد على عبارة القدماء إلى درجة النقل الحرفي، رغم ما تتسم به من غموض دائما، وقصور في البعض الأحيان وربما ورد بها خطأ مما يعوق وصول المعنى إلى المتلقي. 5. اعتمدت اللغة الشارحة على أسلوب الإحالة، فتحولت كثيرا إلى ما يعرف بالإحالة الدائرية؛ لتضمنها مفرادات أكثرها من المهجور والميت. This paper is concerned with investigating the language of explanations used by the authors of Al-Waseet Dictionary. It has been clear that: 1-The dictionary used obscure and rarely used synonyms to clarify the meanings, and this caused a lot of difficulties for the users. 2-Explanations contained a lot of vocabulary that are not currently in use. Thus, difficulties in understanding occurred. 3-In many instances, the dictionary used old explanations taken from classical books. These explanations are not easy for today’s readers. Additionally, many of these explanations could not precisely clarify contemporary meanings due to semantic change. 4-The dictionary did not use the vocabulary of our modern life, and preferred other old, not currently used vocabulary, so that it was not capable of performing its functions efficiently. 5- Circular cross-references occurred in many instances. Also, cross-references were accompanied with a lot of words that are not currently in use. Hence, the readers were in need to make a lot of unnecessary efforts to reach their simple goal; i.e. understanding the meaning of a word. |
