| المستخلص: | لقد أنشأت في محافظة النجف الأشرف محطتين لتوليد الطاقة الكهربائية أولهما محطة كهرباء الحيدرية الغازية والتي تقع بالقرب من ناحية الحيدرية شمال المحافظة، وثانيهما محطة كهرباء النجف الغازية الجديدة والتي تقع جنوب مدينة النجف الأشرف، وذلك لعدة اعتبارات أبرزها عوامل تتعلق بسياسة الدولة في إنشاء تلك المحطات لاعتبارات اجتماعية وسياسية وأيضا هناك عوامل موقعية ساعدت في قيام تلك المحطات ومنها القرب من السوق (الطلب الاستهلاكي للكهرباء) وكذلك القرب من اليد العاملة وخاصة محطة كهرباء النجف الغازية الجديدة. فضلا عن اعتبارات أخرى تتعلق بالقرب من المادة الأولية لتشغيل هذه المنشآت ومنها توفر مادة الغاز والنفط اللازم لتشغيل هاتين المحطتين ولاسيما محطة كهرباء الحيدرية الغازية حيث القرب من الخط الاستراتيجي لنقل النفط الخام فضلا عن قربها من مصفى النجف الأشرف. كما توجد مجموعة من العوامل التي أثرت في نقل الطاقة الكهربائية في محافظة النجف الأشرف أبرزها مشكلة ارتفاع ضائعات الطاقة الكهربائية نتيجة لعدم التنسيق بين مديريات النقل والتوزيع يضاف إليها كثرة التجاوزات على الطاقة الكهربائية التي تعاني منها عملية نقل الطاقة الكهربائية فضلا عن العديد من العوامل الأخرى سواء ما يتعلق منها بالأحوال المناخية أو العوامل البشرية.
