| المستخلص: | يحتاج العديد من أخصائي المكتبات والمهنيين وكذلك الخريجين الحصول على درجة الماجستير كخطوة أولى تمهيدا لاستكمال مسيرة الدراسات العليا لتنمية المهارات العلمية والعملية وأيضا الترقي الوظيفي، ويعد تقديم برامج الماجستير عن بعد بالكامل أسلوبا ملائما لتخصص المكتبات والمعلومات من وجهة نظر الدارسين وكذلك القائمين على مدارس المكتبات، وفي ظل هذا الكم الهائل من الجامعات التي توفر هذه البرامج قد تكون هناك برامج غير معتمدة أكاديميا. لذا سيتم حصر أهم برامج الماجستير المعتمدة دوليا عن بعد من حيث الهدف من برنامج الماجستير وجهات الاعتماد، ورصد شروط القبول، وعرض أساليب التدريس المتبعة، ورصد الفئة المستهدفة من برنامج الماجستير المنهج الدراسي، وجهات الاعتراف المهني، وفرص العمل والتدريب الذي يوفره الحصول على درجة الماجستير المعتمد دوليا عن بعد في تخصص المكتبات والمعلومات، ومتطلبات الحصول على درجة الماجستير، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي، ونظرا لتنوع برامج الماجستير المقدمة من جانب مدارس ومعاهد وجامعات المكتبات والمعلومات فقد تم الاقتصار على برامج الماجستير المعتمدة من قبل الجامعات بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وبلغ عددهم إحدى عشر برنامجا. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج منها تنوع جهات اعتماد برامج الماجستير المعتمدة بالدراسة، كما تستخدم برامج الماجستير المعتمدة بالدراسة أساليب متنوعة في التدريس عبر الإنترنت، وتحرص جميع برامج الماجستير المعتمدة المختارة بالدراسة على إبراز جهات الاعتراف المهني، كما تتنوع شروط القبول بالماجستير، ولعل من أهم التوصيات ضرورة أن يتضمن برنامج الماجستير المتطلبات التكنولوجية من جانب الدارسين للالتحاق بالبرنامج، ومن الجيد الإعلان عن أعضاء هيئة التدريس القائمين بتدريس المقررات المتضمنة ببرنامج الساعات المعتمدة ضمانا لمصداقية البرنامج. كما تم صياغة الاستشهادات المرجعية وفقا لأسلوب APA الذي أعدته الجمعية الأمريكية لعلم النفس.
