| 520 | |b The characteristics of the supply and the production capacities justify the unreliability of the electricity supply in Benin. In this article, we have analyzed the effects of electricity supply distortions on household welfare. Using a random utility model, we analyzed the behavior of household sunder rationing. In the absence of substitutes, we assume that households are expecting and willing to pay for an improved electricity supply. The descriptive analysis of data from the Survey on Electricity Consumption in Benin (ECEB) reveals poor quality of energy service provision on the national distribution network and the econometric analysis revealed the factors influencing the consent to paying households for a better electricity supply. |d Les caractéristiques de l’offre et les capacités de production justifient l’absence de fiabilité de l’approvisionnement en électricité au Bénin. Dans cet article, nous avons analysé les effets des distorsions de l’offre d’électricité sur le bien-être des ménages. A partir d’un modèle d’utilité aléatoire, nous avons analysé les comportements des ménages sous rationnement. En absence de substituts, nous supposons que les ménages sont dans l’attente et sont disposés à payer pour une amélioration de l’approvisionnement en électricité. L’analyse descriptive des données de l’Enquête sur la Consommation d’Electricité au Bénin (ECEB) révèle une mauvaise qualité de la fourniture des services énergétiques sur le réseau national de distribution et l’analyse économétrique a révélé les facteurs influençant le consentement à payer des ménages pour un meilleur approvisionnement en électricité. | ||
