| المستخلص: | إن الحديث عن فلاسفة العقد الاجتماعي يدفعنا إلى الحديث عن مفكرين ساهموا بالكثير معرفيا من أجل فهم ودراسة الحالة التي وصلت إليها الشعوب والدول، وكل ذلك بهدف استنطاق هذه المحددات التي باتت تحدد الإطار الذي تتأسس عليه هذه الدول، والتساؤل حول مدى عقلانيتها وملائمتها للظروف التي من شأنها أن تعلى من قيمة وحرية الإنسان، فبعد أن وجد الإنسان نفسه في إطار علائقي مع الآخرين، اضطر لوضع معايير تحكم وتنظم علاقاته معهم، هذه المعايير هي التي تحدد ما يتأسس عليه العقد الاجتماعي. في هذا الإطار حاول العديد من الفلاسفة البحث ودراسة هذا الموضوع بأسلوب يتأسس على العقل لمعرفة مدى الصواب الذي يمكن أن يجنيه الإنسان بعد أن قرر الإنسان الاتفاق مع الأخرين. خصوصا بعد أن استبدل حريته الطبيعية بحرية مدنية تحمل معاني أخرى، ويعتبر جون لوك من أبرز الفلاسفة الذين تحدثوا في هذه المسألة، حيث عرفت أفكاره انتشارا كبيرا في العالم وشكلت الأساس لدساتير عدة دول.
