المستخلص:In this research, the researcher deals with the remarkable interest in the Ayyubid era in scientific and educational institutions, and as a result of this policy, which lasted for about ninety years, Damascus witnessed an active intellectual movement, flourishing with hundreds of mosques, bookcases, bimaristans, linkages, corners and endowed gorges (that is, the so-called Sufi retreat for worship) due to the effectiveness of the Islamic endowment and the strength of its influence at the time, The researcher demonstrated the superiority of the oldest inhabited city in history in the number of endowments for schools, where schools were established for medicine, translation, judiciary, Arabic language, Qur’an, Hadith and the four schools of jurisprudence in response to the society’s need to acquire religious and secular sciences. In this research, she sheds light on the Grand Al-‘Adiliyya School " Madrasa" as a lofty cultural edifice that played a pioneering role in education for decades, talking about the historical overview of the school, its architectural description and its system of education.
