| 520 | |b There is a contemporary global debate about the role of the underground economy in the realization of the sustainable economic growth; especially in developing countries, where informal activities are in huge increasing. For this reason, Researchers have made efforts to estimate the size of the underground economy and analyze its causes and implications for key macroeconomic variables. In this context, this article is part of the estimation of the underground economy in Algeria using Gutman's simple currency ratio approach covering the period from 1964 to 2017. Thus, we evaluate the causal relationship between the size of the underground economy and the unemployment rate. |d Il existe un débat mondial contemporain sur le rôle de l’économie souterraine dans la réalisation d’une croissance économique durables ; en particulier dans les pays en développement, ou les activités informelles se multiplient de plus en plus. Pour cette raison ; les chercheurs ont fait des efforts pour estimer la taille de l’économie souterraine et analyser ses causes et ses implications sur les principales variables macroéconomiques. Dans ce contexte, le présent article s’inscrit dans le cadre d’estimer l’économie souterraine en Algérie en utilisant l’approche du ratio monétaire simple de Gutman couvrant la période allant de 1964 à 2017. Ainsi nous évaluons la relation de causalité entre la taille de l’économie souterraine et le taux de chômage. | ||
