| المستخلص: | لا شك أن علم الجرح يعتبر من أدق علوم الحديث، وأجلها وأصعبها، فهو علم صعب عسر، ومزلق جد خطر؛ فلهذا قل عدد الجهابذة الناقدين فيه، ولا يتأتى معرفة جرحهم أو تعديلهم إلا بمعرفة ألفاظه التي يستخدمها الناقدون في الكشف عن أحوال الرواة، فكلما كانت الألفاظ دقيقة الصياغة، محددة الدلالة، متعارف عليها من العلماء، ووضعوها ضمن مراتب محددة، سهل معرفة حكم الناقد على ذلك الراوي، ومن ثم الحكم على الحديث، إلا أن بعض النقاد يستخدم ألفاظا غير متداولة، أو تصدر منه إشارات أو حركات يصعب أحيانا معرفة مراده منها، هل أراد بهذا اللفظ أو تلك الإشارة التوثيق للراوي؟ أو أراد التجريح؟ فلهذا كان لابد من النظر في إشارات الأئمة وحركاتهم فضلا عن كلامهم في جرح أو تعديل الرجال.
