| المستخلص: | لقد أثرت العصبية القبلية في شعر الشعراء، وبالذات شعراء العصر الأموي، إذ بدأ الإحساس القبلي يعود من جديد، فيترك أثره في نفوس الشعراء، فورث هذا العصر عودة العصبيات القبلية الموروثة من العصر الجاهلي، وهذا ما أخمده الإسلام، لكن بظهور فن النقائض بدأت المباراة الحقيقية ما بين الشعراء للدفاع عن قبيلتهم، فذكروا مفاخرها وأمجادها، وذكروا مساوئ خصومها ومثالبهم، فكانت ضروب اللهو والتسلية من الأمور التي شغلت الناس عن الخلافة، فكان الأخطل لسان قومه الناطق المدافع عنهم الحريص على مصالحهم، فثأر من شعراء عصره، وهاجم كل من أضمر العداوة لقبيلته تغلب، فأشتهر بسعيه لإصلاح ذات البين، وحقن الدماء بين أبناء قومه، فتكفل بالديات، وفتح داراً للضيافة، فأصبح سيداً في قومه وزعيماً ومصلحاً، فظل أميناً على قبيلته تغلب وعلى بداوتها وفطرتها مؤكداً على مسيحيتها، معتزاً بآبائه اعتزازاً شديداً، ملتصقاً بقبيلته فتقرب من الخلافة والسلطان لضمان حماية قومه وقبيلته من الجور والظلم، فانتزع الأخطل لقب (شاعر أمير المؤمنين) أو (شاعر بني أمية) وبذلك حقق أحلامه في ضمان الحماية الكافية التي طالما تمناها لقومه، فأصبح صوتها الناطق في كل مكان.
