المستخلص: | What does not accept the contrary, that the good communication between disciplines requires agreement on definitions of terminology. Brian Jenkins has called the definition problem the Bermuda Triangle of terrorism. Philip Schlesinger, a British sociologist, even argued that no commonly agreed definition can in principle be reached, because the very process of definition is in itself part of a wider contestation over ideologies or political objectives. Response to this issue this Study objective to exploration a revised academic consensus definition of terrorism by Content Analysis of 262 terrorism definitions through 10 Elements; Dual character of the term terrorism, Threefold context, Perpetrator as source or agent of violence, Political, Violent act, Threat-based communication, Differentiation between direct civilian victims and the ultimate target audience, Terror/ fear/ dread, Intent, Campaign. |
