| المستخلص: | ذكر بعض المؤرخين الإسبان المهتمين بالقرنين السادس والسابع عشر بأن السلطات في مدينة الجزائر اعتمدت على سلطان القسطنطينية لضمان حمايتها وفي الوقت ذاته تمتعت بالحكم الذاتي وبالحرية في معظم قراراتها. هذا البحث المتواضع هو محاولة فهم نظرة المؤرخين الإسبان لشمال إفريقيا بشكل عام وللجزائر بصفة خاصة في تلك الفترة لأننا اكتشفنا أن الكثير من الكتب الإسبانية التي تعرضت لهذه الفترة من التاريخ أظهرت الكثير من العداء، ونقلت للقراء الغربيين صورة مشوهة جدا عن المسلمين وبخاصة الجزائريين، والمؤرخ الإسباني ميڤال أنخل بونس دي بار يعترف بأن بعض الكتب فعلا نقلت في طياتها عداء متميزا للمسلمين الجزائريين لأن الجزائر حسب رأيهم مثلت واجهة إسطنبول في شمال إفريقيا بسبب قربها الجغرافي، وهاجمت بشكل منهجي الدول المسيحية في الغرب. \nهدفنا من خلال هذا البحث هو إزالة الغموض عن هذه الفترة الهامة من تاريخنا. Some Spanish historians interested in the 16th and 17th centuries stated that the authorities in Algiers relied on the Sultan of Constantinople to ensure its protection, while at the same time, it enjoyed autonomy and freedom in most of its decisions. This humble research is to try to understand the view of Spanish historians of North Africa, in general, and Algeria, in particular, in that period because we have discovered that many Spanish books that have been subjected to this period of history showed a lot of hostility. They showed Western readers a very distorted picture of Muslims, especially Algerians. The Spanish historian Meval Angele Ponce de Bar admits that some books have already conveyed a distinct hostility to Algerian Muslims.
