| المستخلص: | النفس البشرية تجنح إلى الخفة والسهولة في كل شؤونها الاجتماعية، ومنها الرشاقة اللفظية في تخاطبها، وأدى هذا إلى ظهور ما يعرف بالجهد الأقل على أنه مبدأ من قوانين اللغات، فيسعى هذا البحث إلى تقريب مفهومه المؤطر بالمسلك اللغوي الذي يؤدي الغرض المروم بأدنى جهد علاجي حال التخاطب، ويوطئ لأقسامه ببيان موقع هذا المبدأ في الدرس اللغوي قديما وحديثا، ففي التراث اللغوي مرتبط بنظرية التعليل (علة التخفيف)، وفي الدراسات الحديثة مقترن ببحث تطور اللغات وخصائصها. وسيقوم هذا البحث بالكشف عن طاقة هذا المبدأ وخاصيته في توجيه أنماط الاقتصاد اللغوي المستنبطة من مركزية النحاة (كتاب سيبويه)، وكان مدار تلك الأنماط على أربعة معايير: المعيار الصوتي، والمعيار الطولي، والمعيار الاستعمالي، والمعيار الذهني. وسيتبع ذلك بإبراز أغراضه النماذج من (الكتاب) بالمعيار الاستعمالي، مكيفة بأبعاد معالجة سيبويه لها، ومرجع تلك بمقاربة تداولية بوساطة انتقاء التآويل التداولية إلى مبدأي (التكميل) و(التوسيع)، متضامة بالقرائن السياقية الحالية غير اللسانية الموجهة لتحديد قصدية المتكلم. Humans tend to feasibility and convenience in dealing with their social affairs including adopting elegance and simplicity of discourse. This tendency has led to the development of a principle known as the Principle of Least Effort as one of the rules of languages. This study seeks to approach this concept in terms of the linguistic behaviour that achieves the desired aim with the least processing effort in discourse. The study introduces this principle in past and current scholarship. While in ancient scholarship, the Principle of Least Effort was related to the reasoning theory (mitigation reason), in the modern studies it is found to be paired with the research on language evolution and properties. This research will explore the capacity of this principle and its property in directing the linguistic economy patterns educed from the grammarians’ reference (Sibwayah’s al-Kitab “The book”). These patterns centre around four criteria: phonetic, temporal, usage, and cognitive. The discussion will be followed by an explanation of the purposes of the principle through a pragmatic approach and by selecting instances from The Book in terms of the usage criterion as informed by the way Sibwayah treated it. Such pragmatic interpretations are attributed to the principles of complementarity and elaboration coupled with the current non-linguistic clues that aim at determining the speaker’s intention. |
