Research Topic: Narrations on Seeking Refuge with the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, and with Other Human Beings. Main Results: Seeking refuge, lexically means asking for protection; and in the legal terminology, it means to be protected with something from an evil. Research narrations are ten. The permissible refuge with the created being is seeking refuge with him on what he is capable of doing, while he is present and hearing. Seeking refuge with the dead or the absent ones is a major polytheism (shirk). The permissibility of seeking refuge with an a absent person who is alive, provided it is in the presence of a person that will inform him. Dependence of the heart on whom refuge is being sought is a minor polytheism. Seeking refuge with the human being has many types. Combining seeking refuge with the created being and the Creator is a minor polytheism. |
