| المستخلص: | في العمل الفني الرسم التحضيري هو العنصر الأهم، سواء كان للبناء الكلي للأشكال، وتوزيع العناصر بداخل العمل الفني، أو للبناء الفردي الخاص بكل جسم علي حده، أو حتى الدراسات التفصيلية لجزء بعينه من الجسم، لأنه يسمح للفنان بالمرور على الشكل قبل تنفيذه والتأكد من مماثلته للفكرة التي يريد تنفيذها والرسم التحضيري باستخدام الخطوط هو عملية تحديد البناء الكلي للعمل، ففي حالة ارتكاز بناء العمل الفني على الضوء والظل فقط تصبح النسب والتكوين تقريبي، لذا يعتبر البناء التحضيري الخطى هو الأكثر دقه وأهمية، وهنا تكمن أهمية الرسومات التحضيرية حيث أنها تحدد شكل التكوين، ونسب جسم كل بطل من أبطال العمل الفني والإيماءة والتعبير الذي يجب أن يؤديهما فيرتكز عليها بناء العمل كله، فهي بمثابة الخطوات التمهيدية لإعداد أعمالا فنية على مستوى أكبر، فيقوم الفنان بوضع هذه الخطوط والرسوم والدراسات المختلفة كترجمة لما يدور بداخله من انفعالات وأفكار لتكون خطة لما يتصوره الفنان ويريد أن يبدعه، إلى أن يصل في النهاية للعمل الفني بصورته النهائية عن طريق استخدام الوسائط والخامات والأدوات المختلفة، بالرجوع إلى تاريخ تجارب عظماء الفنانين يمكننا أن نجد أن لكل منهم مرحلة تبدأ بالدراسات التحضيرية التي تتزامن مع الفكرة بمراحلها وبما يطرأ عليها من تغيير وتبديل وتطور فمهما بدا لنا العمل الفني تلقائي نجد أن وراء هذا العمل مجهود شاق من الدراسات والمحاولات.
