| المستخلص: | The predilection of Charif Majdalani for the traveling and wandering topics is apparent in his literary work. Beyond the history and the social laws governing the Lebanese families, these two topics are illustrated in a relevant way and is an integrate part of the literary artwork. The protagonist traveler and also the wanderers seemed to be confused between the desire of stability and the sense of change. Moving in the space, conquering the frontier or occupying the desert is to offer new spaces to be governed and possessed: the spaces of promised land, beyond the sea, where they realized themselves, to rebuild themselves and to recognize themselves in the otherness. These persons who are in a fundamental need for recognition, and travel, search continuously to develop and enrich their identity in an elsewhere full of promises. To realize this, they change their unacceptable selves, moving toward a better self and moreover toward the esteem, the love and the recognition of the other. During this search, they will face the insecurity give a meaning for their present life, challenge the future and try to find their part of immortality. La prédilection de Charif Majdalani pour les thèmes du voyage et de l’errance paraît évidente dans son oeuvre littéraire. Au-delà de l’Histoire et des lois sociales qui régissent les familles libanaises, ces deux thèmes sont illustrés de façon pertinente et font partie intégrante de la littérarité de son oeuvre. Les protagonistes voyageurs et de surcroit errants se révèlent comme des êtres tiraillés entre le désir de stabilité et le goût du changement. Se mouvoir dans l’espace, conquérir les frontières ou peupler les déserts revient à s’offrir de nouveaux espaces à gouverner et à posséder: les espaces d’une terre promise, au-delà des mers, où ils pourraient se réaliser, se reconstruire et se reconnaître dans l’altérité. Ces personnages, qui ont un besoin fondamental de reconnaissance, voyagent, cherchent continuellement à développer et enrichir leur identité dans un ailleurs plein de promesses. Pour ce faire, ils modifient leur moi inacceptable, tendant vers un moi meilleur, et plus encore, vers l’estime, l’amour et la reconnaisse de l’Autre. Au cours de cette quête, ils affrontent l’insécurité, confèrent un sens à leur présent, défient l’avenir et cherchent à trouver leur part d’immortalité. |
