المستخلص:Recently, there have been many discussions about fitan hadiths. Debates about the slander of the Devils (Dajjāl), Gog and Magog as well as other signs of the end of the world are not uncommon today. However, in the passion to talk about the fitan hadiths, there are a number of writers who are so meticulous that they ignore the method of understanding the hadiths that have been outlined by scholars. Neglect of this method leads to misunderstandings and errors in understanding the hadith. This article discusses Imran N. Hosein's thoughts on the emergence of the Gog and Magog. In the work An Islamic View Of Gog And Magog In The Modern World Imran N. Hosein argues that Gog and Magog have been out for thousands of years. Based on that fact, it is an important to explore about his thoughts, which is described as violating the current thinking of the scholars of hadith. The main objective of this study is to explain Imran N. Hosein's thoughts on the emergence of Gog and Magog. Apart from that, the study also aims to identify the factors that cause errors in understanding the hadith related to Gog and Magog and Magog. In producing this study, the author uses the method of documentation, which refers completely to the books of hadith lectures, theses, dissertations, journals, websites and related reference books. The findings of the study conclude that Imran N. Hosein is of the view that the release of Yakjuj and Makjuj began during the life of Rasulullah SAW more than 1400 years ago. The study also found that the occurrence of confusion and misunderstanding about the emergence of Gog and Magog stems from the neglect of the method of understanding the hadith that has been outlined by scholars. This study implies that Imran N. Hosein's thinking about the emergence of Gog and Magog is not in line with the views of the majority of hadith scholars. In addition, the implications of this study have concluded that the need to adhere to the methods that have been outlined by scholars to avoid mistakes in understanding the hadith related to Gog and Magog.
