Le confucianisme n'est pas strictement une religion mais plutôt une philosophie humaniste qui rassemble maintenant plus de 6 millions adeptes principalement en Asie et surtout en Chine. Cette doctrine est basée sur les enseignements du philosophe Confucius (551-479 av. j.-c.), un sage du pays de lu, principauté située dans le sud de la province actuelle du Shandong. Il a conçu une sorte de philosophie pour adopter une norme de comportement humain, basée sur un système rituel et une doctrine morale et sociale. Il revint à 483 dans sa ville natale où il mena, jusqu'à sa mort en 479, une vie à la retraite consacrée à l'étude des anciens auteurs. Ce sage a été reconnu dans sa vie comme un grand penseur avant d'être considéré plus tard comme un personnage surnaturel. Confucianism is not a religion but a humanitarian philosophy that now brings together more than 6.000.000 million followers in Asia, especially in China. This doctrine is based on the teachings of the wise philosopher Confucius (51—479 BC), a sage from Lu, a Principality south of present-day Shandong Province. Confucius devised a kind of philosophy to enact a norm of human behavior based on a ritualistic system and a moral and social doctrine. He returned to his hometown in 483, where he lived a retired life devoted to studying the works of the ancients until his death.
